Akshay kumar to Neeraj: 64th National Award's Unexpected winners.

As Akshay Kumar's name was announced as the winner of this year's Best Actor award, a hush fell followed by cheer by his fans. The actor, often ignored by award functions, added this to his tally of awards on Friday. Announced in New Delhi, the awards this year came with a few surprises, with Akshay may be leading the list. The film, inspired by KM Nanavati case, has brought Akshay his first National Award. The Best Hindi Film was awarded to Neerja starring Sonam Kapoor. Neerja was inspired by the life of 23-year old Neerja Bhanot who lost her life trying to save passengers on Pan Am Flight 73.

Akshay kumar to star in Salman Khan and Karan Johar's first joint production.

Call it the coming together of friends for a professional reason. Salman Khan and Karan Johar have now joined hands to roll out their maiden joint production venture and the same will star none other than their close friend Akshay Kumar.
The announcement was made late yesterday night simultaneously by Salman, Akshay and Karan. Taking to Twitter, all three tweeted from their respective accounts to make public the big news.
“Joining hands where Akshay Kumar is the hero and will be co-produced by Karan Johar and Salman Khan films, ” tweeted Salman.

“Coming together for a film produced by friends @BeingSalmanKhan and @KaranJohar starring me. Out in 2018,” tweeted Akshay.

Akshay donates Rs 9 lakhs to family of jawan whose body was mutilated after killing

Once more Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has come to the aid of a family stricken by the death of a jawan in Jammu and Kashmir border.

On November 22, suspected Pakistani troops killed three soldiers and mutilated one of the bodies near the border.

The news of Akshay’s donation Rs 9 lakhs to the family has not come from the actor who prefers not to talk about such things publicly.

Chandra Singh, father of martyred jawan Prabhu Singh confirmed the news appreciating the actor’s gesture: “Akshayji had called and he transferred money to my account, he said I should use this for the education of his sisters and daughter. He extended more support if and when there is a need.”

The actor managed to get the contact details of the 25-year-old Rifleman Prabhu Singh of Rajasthan, whose body was found mutilated, and spoke to his father an ex-army jawan himself, who is now paralyzed and after an emotional chat he transferred Rs 9 lakhs into his account.

Rifleman Prabhu Singh left behind his father, wife, three sisters and a six-month-old daughter.

Cat got TV chat host Karan Johar's tongue during the dreaded rapid fire round on Koffee With Karan Season 5's latest episode. Twinkle Khanna went in all guns blazing, which KJo, as an old friend, ought to have been prepared for.

But can anybody really be armed against an onslaught of this sort, albeit hilarious? It was a no-holds barred performance by Twinkle, the kind we rarely got to see during her acting career. Husband Akshay Kumar's attempt to caution her (using their coded phrase "Chashma Pehan Le," meaning be careful with your words) was thankfully ignored, giving Koffee With Karan its best rapid fire round ever. For those of you who didn't watch, here are some choice gems.

Akshay's rapid fire was almost as entertaining. He's been subject to Karan Johar's machine-gunning on the previous season and so did fairly well.

Akshay Kumar's new film with Bhumi Pednekar is an offbeat 'toilet' rom-com

After the news that Akshay Kumar will be play hockey player Balbir Singh in the Excel Entertainment produced Gold, there's one more film from the actor.

Akshay recently Instagrammed a picture with Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress Bhumi Pednekar. The photo has Bhumi Pednekar dressed as a newly wed and a moustached Akshay Kumar taking a selfie with an Indian-style toilet. The still signals the beginning of the shoot for their offbeat romantic film Toilet — Ek Prem Katha.

He captioned it as, "A very good morning from Bhumi and me from the sets of Toilet — Ek Prem Katha! First day it is...need your best wishes #TEPK".

The film is being shot in Mathura,Uttar Pradesh. The actor also tweeted that he received a gift from an adoring fan on the first day of his shoot in Mathura.

The gift was a copy of the Bhagvad Gita. The Jolly LLB 2 actor tweeted, "Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the day. Landed in Mathura & got gifted this precious Bhagvad Gita on day 1 by a passerby! #blessed."

The actor already has the blessing of box-office successes, with his three consecutive films, Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom crossing the 100-crore mark in 2015 and 2016.
