There are some basic things that everybody should know.
Science is important. It’s responsible for almost everything that we know about our world on a physical level. It is important to understand, however, that science is not a book full of facts. It is a process by which we figure things out about the world.

  • It is a myth that Food items fried in oil are unhealthy.
When food items fried in oil, at optimal temperature, for optimal period of time, is healthy and hygienic and safe for our diet. If you fry in the right oil and follow some guidelines carefully, fried foods can have a place in a healthy diet.
  • The brain works harder while we are asleep than during the day when we are awake.

Many people assume that sleep helps the brain rest, but our brains are actually busier during slumber. When we sleep and dream, our brains carry out important functions that they cannot perform while focusing on movement and conscious thought. During sleep, our brains process things we learned and emotions we felt during waking hours and saves them in our memory. That’s why sleep is so important to learning.
  • World Wide Web and internet are not the same
  
Although the World Wide Web is often referred to as the Internet, the two are not the same thing. The Internet is a huge network of networks that links computers together all over the world using a range of wires and wireless technologies. The World Wide Web is the collection of linked pages that are accessed using the Internet and a web browser.
  • Your cellphone won't kill you
Yes, it does emit radiation, but so do you. In fact, you emit more radiation than your cell phone.
  • Muscles can only pull and never push.
That is the contraction( pulling) of muscles is active while relaxation (pushing) is passive.
We see many people show of their biceps to prove their strength. Biceps can only flex the elbow joint. Equally strong triceps is needed for balanced elbow function. Triceps is used for extending the elbow joint. In fact triceps are more used than biceps.
  • Analog vs Digital
 
There are two types of signals that carry information – analog and digital signals. Digital information is binary. It’s 1s and 0s. The real world is analog. It’s all light waves, sound waves, etc. Converting analog information to digital involves some loss of information but it is worth it because digital data is easier to store.
  • Positions to consider while sleeping
Lying on our back with a pillow under the knee. This reduces, strain on spine. However people with asthma can skip this position as it may cause breathing difficulty at night.
Sleeping on our stomach. It is bad as the neck won't be straight causing stiffness in the morning and the spine doesn't get enough support.
While sleeping on our sides, sleep on your left, as it will improve digestive functions.
