After the Phogats, These 3 ‘Dhaakad’ Sisters from Haryana Set an Example by Joining Indian Army!

Indian Army

Taking a pleasant break from being in the news as the state with the lowest sex ratio in the country, Haryana is now being lauded for being the state of successful women in recent times. After the Phogat sisters, whose inspiring story of becoming international wrestlers recently hit the silver screen with Dangal, three more sisters from Haryana have made the state proud by joining the Indian Army.

Residents of Kherka Gujjar village in Jhajjar, Haryana, Preeti and Deepti Deshwal, and their cousin Mamta have joined the Indian Army Medical Corps as lieutenants!

According to a report in Rajasthan Patrika, nobody in the family of Pratap Singh Deshwal has been a part of the Army till now. The three daughters of the house, however, dreamt of becoming army officers and their family supported them wholeheartedly.
Preeti and Deepti completed their schooling from Jyoti Prakash School, while Mamta went to Himalayan School. In 2012, the trio was selected in the Armed Forces Medical College but went to different campuses. Preeti was trained in Kolkata, Deepti in Mumbai, and Mamta went to Pune.

The three graduated this year and have been commissioned to different military hospitals across the country. Mamta will be stationed at Military hospital, Ranikhet, and Deepti will be stationed in Agra. Preeti will work for Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Ooty.

The achievements of the three young lieutenants prove that if girls are given the right opportunities and support, they are no less than boys. The credit goes to the girls’ determination and their family’s support.

India, England 385/8, Live Cricket Score, India vs England, 4th Test Day 2: India fail to restrict England

Another interesting day of Test cricket awaits India and England in Mumbai as both teams prepare for the second day of the fourth Test at the Wankhede stadium. India will pick the remaining five England wickets as quickly as possible while the visitors will try to add to their overnight total of 288 for the loss of five wickets. England managed that score mainly due to Keaton’s Jennings, who was making his debut, maiden ton. Mooen Ali shared a 94-run with Jennings before himself falling for 50. For India, R Ashwin was once again the star bowler, taking four wickets on day one.

vivo V5 unveiled with 20MP selfie camera, split screen multitasking

If you want an awesome selfie camera but the vivo X7 Plus is too pricey for you, try the new vivo V5. Its claim to fame is the 20MP front-facing camera.
It uses a high-quality sensor too - a Sony IMX376, 1/2.78” - behind a bright f/2.0 aperture. There’s an LED flash on the front too, of course. These are some of the best specs for a selfie camera ever (the X7 has a 16MP selfie cam, the Xperia XA Ultra has a 16MP 1/2.6” sensor and OIS).

The main camera on the vivo V5 is plain in comparison - 13MP sensor with Phase Detection AF. Vivo is a little evasive with chipset and video recording specs, so we’ll assume 1080p video capture until we hear otherwise.
All this talk and we haven’t even mentioned the screen - it’s a 5.5” IPS LCD with only 720p resolution. There’s 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass guarding the screen and below that is a fingerprint reader that triggers in just 0.2 seconds.
An unnamed octa-core processor is hooked up to a surprisingly generous 4GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB of storage built in and a microSD slot. The OS is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with extensive Funtouch OS 2.6 customizations. They include Smart Split 2.0 - split-screen multitasking.
The vivo V5 has a metal body painted in Crown Gold or Grey, which measures 7.55mm thick and weighs 154g. Inside is a 3,000mAh battery and an AK4346 Hi-Fi audio chip that promises a signal-to-noise ratio of 115dB.
The V5 is priced at INR 17,980 ($265/€245) and will be available starting November 26.

Income Tax raids around 30 locations of Bahubali producer

Income-Tax officials on Friday raided Arka Mediaworks, the Banjara Hills office of Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni, producers of the superhit film Baahubali.

As per sources, the raids were conducted by a team of I-T officials in around 30 locations related to the two producers including at their houses and the houses of some of their relatives in Telangana and locations in Andhra Pradesh. Raids were also conducted at the house of one of the distributors of the movie’ s first part.

The raids were in relation to reports of huge movement of unaccounted for cash of up to Rs 60 crore. Key documents were seized from the office of the producers.

Following the demonetis
ation of high value currency notes, there have been reports of people possessing black money – most of which is in old currency notes – trying various ways to invest their cash without getting caught.

Baahubali, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, became a huge success, collecting close to Rs 650 crore. The second part of the movie is slated to release by April next year. The production cost for both parts is around Rs 250 crore.

A Tollywood producer, on condition of anonymity, said, “The Telugu film industry had always been under the I-Tradar but no one expected this kind of a surprise raid.”
The selling of rights for Baahubali-2 is huge. As per a source, the Nizam area rights were sold for Rs 50 crore to Mr Sunil Narang of Global Cinema. Other areas also did roaring business, double of Baahubali-1.

The source added, “Apart from the huge business of the second part, the producers are minting money from part-1 of the movie. The television rights were sold for a big amount. It seems the I-T officials want to check those accounts.”

The source, meanwhile, said, “There may be more raids coming on key persons in Tollywood, especially those who distributed the first part of the movie and earned huge profits.”

The first part of the film for Nizam area was brought by producer Dil Raju, the film grossed around Rs 45 crore there. It was reported that in many areas the tickets had sold for Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 on the first day.

India, Japan Sign Landmark Nuclear Energy Deal After 6 Years Of Talks: 10 Points

  1. After six years of wrangling and intense negotiations, India and Japan on Friday signed a landmark civil nuclear agreement in Tokyo, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe held talks. PM Modi is on a three-day visit to Japan, his second in two years.
  2. "The Agreement for Cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy marks a historic step in our engagement to build a clean energy partnership," said PM Modi.
  3. The agreement will allow Japan to supply nuclear reactors, fuel and technology to India, which will be the first country that has not signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty or NPT to have such a deal with Tokyo.
  4. The two countries had reached a broad agreement last December during Mr Abe's visit to India, but Japan, the only country to have suffered a nuclear attack, saw strong political resistance to the deal, especially after the 2011 disaster at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.
  5. Tokyo had reservations about such an agreement with a nation that hasn't signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and had sought assurances from New Delhi that it would not conduct nuclear tests any more.
  6. India has declared a moratorium on nuclear testing since its last explosions in 1998. But with concerns about neighbours China and Pakistan being nuclear armed, it has not signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty, contending that it is discriminatory.
  7. Japan is a major player in the nuclear energy market and this deal will make it easier for US-based companies like Westinghouse and GE to set up atomic plants in India as both have Japanese investments.
  8. India is in advanced negotiations with Westinghouse Electric, owned by Japan's Toshiba, to build six nuclear reactors in the south - a part of New Delhi's plan to ramp up nuclear capacity ten-fold by 2032.
  9. A joint statement by PM Modi and Mr Abe also made a strong reference to Pakistan. "The two Prime Ministers condemned terrorism in strongest terms in all its forms and manifestations in the spirit of 'zero tolerance'... They called upon all countries to implement the UNSC Resolution 1267 and other relevant resolutions designating terrorist entities," it said, referring to India's bid to get Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar designated as global a terrorist under this resolution.
  10. The Prime Minister landed in Tokyo last night and this morning met Japanese Emperor Akihito. He also addressed top Japanese CEOs and invited investments, saying India has a huge and substantial need for finances and his government is pursuing reform policies to make the country the world's "most open" economy.
  11. From Tokyo, PM Modi, accompanied by Shinzo Abe, travelled to Kobe by the famed Shinkansen bullet train, the technology that will be deployed for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Railway. He visited the Kawasaki Heavy Industries facility in Kobe, where high speed railway is manufactured. Japan wants to edge out China in new bullet train deals with India. The competition between Asia's biggest economies for high-speed rail contracts has been intense. China beat out Japan for a line in Indonesia last year, and the two are set to face off again over a proposed Singapore-Kuala Lumpur link.
