Maruti Suzuki Ignis launch around Diwali, here are features & specifications

Despite rumours regarding a delay in the production of the Ignis compact crossover, the company will launch the vehicle around Diwali. This will allow the company to benefit from the festive season sentiments of consumers. Earlier, the market was flooded with rumours that the company might delay the launch of Ignis due to an order backlog for the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno. India will be the second market globally to receive the Ignis after Japan.

With the Ignis, Maruti Suzuki will mark its entry into the compact crossover segment, which presently consists of the Mahindra KUV 100. The car will be launched with a 1.0 L Boosterjet petrol engine, which will develop about 110 hp and will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. There is no clarity on the launch timeline for a diesel variant yet. However, we expect the Ignis diesel to be powered by the familiar 1.3 L DDiS engine along with the option of an automated manual transmission (AMT).

Priyanka Chopra owes the success she achieved to herself.

Global icon Priyanka Chopra recently revealed that she was never a kind of a person, who had to be put in a box and shared her journey from “carefree teen persona” to her present “ambitious, goal-oriented woman”.
In an interview with the Star World India, the 30-year-old actress said, “I love to challenge the status quo, to pursue an idea, a dream that I had for myself, I always wanted to give those thoughts a shot,” reports the Dawn.
Adding, “I’ve been in the public since I was 17-years-old and it’s really all I’ve known. Being crowned Miss India and then Miss World, suddenly I went on from becoming an aeronautical engineer, carefree teenager to standing on a world stage, where I have to have a point of view on probably the most important world events.”

Being one of very few Bollywood superstars to have made it big without anybody’s support, she owed the success to herself.
“The innate ability to recognise opportunities that are presented to me gave me courage. I tried my hand in the Hindi film industry. I literally had no training, no godfather, no experience. I guess I just had a belief in myself, and it’s been an incredible journey with highs, lows, successes, failures, joy, sadness, and everything else in the middle, but it’s been all my own,” she said.
Priyanka’s upcoming film Baywatch is set for a 2017 release. She will also be seen judging the American reality TV series Project Runway alongside Heidi Klum.

You have to be on it, be aware, be focussed… And it can get very taxing.”
Jacqueline was recently seen in Housefull 3 and Dishoom and now she is busy promoting her forthcoming entertainer A Flying Jatt. Jacqueline Fernandez also said that she was initially scared of 7-feet high Australian actor and retired professional wrestler Nathan Jones, but later bonded well while working on . Jones, who was seen in Hollywood movies like Mad Max: Fury Road, Troy, The Condemned and a Tamil film last year, has forayed into Bollywood with A Flying Jatt.
“First time when I saw Nathan, he looked scary. I used to talk to Nathan about Hollywood, I would ask him about how it is working with this or that actor or actress. We used to gossip about Hollywood. It was cool. I enjoyed his company,” said Jacqueline.

His next will be a completely different ball game where he will play Abdul Karim, Queen Victoria’s alleged lover and one of the biggest secrets of British royal family. The actor on his journey so far and what is yet to come.
We have seen you as an engineering student in 3 idiots and as a supportive friend in Bobby Jasoos. What is your character Guddu in Happy Bhag Jayegi all about?
You’re going to see me in a very different pace in Happy Bhag Jayegi. It’s again a love story. It’s not about just one character or two characters or three, so I think it’s beautifully balanced out and narrated. Here I am Guddu who’s childhood friends with Happy. In the beginning of the film, you’ll see that Happy will be getting married to a corporator and Guddu tried to help her run away. Then a mistake happens and she lands up in Pakistan. And then the film eventually tells a story about how Guddu reaches there, how she comes back to him and how Abhay’s character Bilal helps her out. So I feel it is definitely in a different space. This is the first time I have played a Punjabi character and I’m quite pleased. I have not watched any of my films so you have to tell me how I am.

Happy Bhag Jayegi box office collection day 1: Rustom eats into film’s pie

For those who thought Happy Bhag Jayegi could make a dent in Rustom’s box office collection, the audience has spoken. The Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Shergill comedy opened to mixed reviews but all of it failed to translate into box office numbers.
The film opened to empty theatres with only 10-15 percent occupancy being reported at most places. Early trade estimates say the film will earn about Rs 2 crore at the BO in opening day collections.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Anand L Rai, Happy Bhag Jayegi has shades of Tanu Weds Manu and may get some thrust from positive word of mouth. Made at a modest budget, the film may still pick up some speed in the coming days.

The film that is still holding sway is Akshay Kumar-starrer Rustom. The courtroom drama, which stars Akshay as a naval officer, has already earned over Rs 90 crore at the box office and is still going strong. The film is likely to enter the Rs 100-crore club this weekend. This will be Akshay’s third film this year to earn that kind of money. His Airlift and Housefull 3 had earlier earned over Rs 100 crore at box office.

Hrithik Roshan pleasantly surprised by good reviews for Mohenjo Daro

Actor Hrithik Roshan is “pleasantly surprised” by the positive reviews for epic adventure-romance Mohenjo Daro. He says it was encouraging.
“I am pleasantly surprised by the positive reviews for Mohenjo Daro. It is encouraging that we have received better reviews than most were expecting,” Hrithik said in a statement. Directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, the film marks debut of Pooja Hegde and is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker.
The film brings an epic adventure-romance story on the silver screen. It is set in the city of Mohenjo Daro in the era of the Indus Valley civilisation which dates back to 2,600 BC. The movie was released on Friday alongside Akshay Kumar-starrer Rustom. According to the IANS review by Troy Ribeiro, Mohenjo Daro is a magnum opus and lights up the screen but lacks crisp storytelling.
Meanwhile, the film’s director Ashutosh Gowariker, who had started his journey in the film industry as an actor, said on Friday that he gets the temptation to act, but keeps it down as it is too much of a multitask along with direction. In an interview, Gowariker said, “I get scared sometimes, because direction is a very difficult task. And I feel that, as a director, if I also act, it may perhaps become a distraction, my mind will get diverted, because it is too big a multitask for me.”
“As a director, you are already thinking so much, you’re thinking about foreground, you’re thinking about background, about so many elements, that as an actor I’ll get distracted. So I have the temptation, but I keep it down.”
