Hrithik Roshan pleasantly surprised by good reviews for Mohenjo Daro

Actor Hrithik Roshan is “pleasantly surprised” by the positive reviews for epic adventure-romance Mohenjo Daro. He says it was encouraging.
“I am pleasantly surprised by the positive reviews for Mohenjo Daro. It is encouraging that we have received better reviews than most were expecting,” Hrithik said in a statement. Directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, the film marks debut of Pooja Hegde and is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker.
The film brings an epic adventure-romance story on the silver screen. It is set in the city of Mohenjo Daro in the era of the Indus Valley civilisation which dates back to 2,600 BC. The movie was released on Friday alongside Akshay Kumar-starrer Rustom. According to the IANS review by Troy Ribeiro, Mohenjo Daro is a magnum opus and lights up the screen but lacks crisp storytelling.
Meanwhile, the film’s director Ashutosh Gowariker, who had started his journey in the film industry as an actor, said on Friday that he gets the temptation to act, but keeps it down as it is too much of a multitask along with direction. In an interview, Gowariker said, “I get scared sometimes, because direction is a very difficult task. And I feel that, as a director, if I also act, it may perhaps become a distraction, my mind will get diverted, because it is too big a multitask for me.”
“As a director, you are already thinking so much, you’re thinking about foreground, you’re thinking about background, about so many elements, that as an actor I’ll get distracted. So I have the temptation, but I keep it down.”
