Punjab cabbie turns billionaire for a day, gets Rs. 98 billion in account!

Barnala (Punjab) [India], Nov. 30 (ANI): A taxi driver in Barnala city of Punjab was shocked beyond words when he turned billionaire for a day as huge sum of money was transferred into his account.

Cash to the tune of Rs. 98 billion was transferred in the account of Balwinder Singh on November 4, four days ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcement of abolishing high-value bank notes.
However, the amount was deducted from his account the very next day.
Since then, Singh has visited all branches of his bank in the city to end suspense on the mysterious transaction, but is still dissatisfied as no bank employee is willing to clear the air about the episode.
"I am not satisfied with what the bank manager is telling me about the amount that has been transferred in my account. Bank manager is telling it is not their fault so I am not satisfied with it," said Singh on Tuesday.
Local media reports say that Singh has also accused the bank of taking his passbook and issuing a new one without entering the amount credit and subsequent debit.
Income Tax Officer Kapil Kishore said statements of the bank employees were being recorded to probe the matter.
"The bank account holder said that he has no connection with the transferred amount. It is the responsibility of the bank manager to investigate how such a huge amount was transferred. The driver has also mentioned in his application that the bank has asked him to submit his passbook. We will check the bank records after taking permission from the bank and our higher authorities. We will also record the bank manager's statement and conduct investigations based on all facts," said Kishore.
Further investigation is underway. (ANI)

Dangal making: Aamir Khan’s fabulous body transformation

We have been hearing about and seeing in pictures the body transformation of Aamir Khanfor his film Dangal. But now a new making video of Dangal is out that shows the complete transformation of the Bollywood superstar from ‘Fat To Fit’ – fat because he had decided to put on weight for his film rather than wear a bodysuit that would look uncomfortable. Aamir Khan started putting on weight to shoot the older version of his character, wrestler Mahavir Phogat on whose life the film is based. Aamir’s reason for it was – if he puts on weight first, he will be motivated enough to lose it for the remaining part of the shoot and also for himself. Or else, he will remain fat forever. That would surely have been the end of Aamir Khan’s career as a hero, and so, wise decision, Aamir!

On his birthday this year, Aamir Khan as usual met up with the media but he was looking so slim and with a sexy moustache and stubble! The actor had drastically lost weight in a special training session in US, where shed the kilos by the dozen in a rigorous month-long schedule that could actually be bad for health, he said. To play the younger version of the celebrated wrestler who trained his daughters to be champion wrestlers themselves, Aamir Khan went from 90-95 kg for the older Mahavir Phogat to 70-75 kg for the younger man. The dedication of this actor to the characters he plays has always been unmatched! Look at how he looked in 3 Idiots (college student) and then in Ghajini (first lean then muscular), some of his recent films. And no less in Dangal!

Yuvraj Singh - Hazeel Keech Shaadi: Barmy Army Wants To See Stuart Broad Dance

Trust the English for their humour! The Barmy Army has a wish: to see Stuart Broad dance with Yuvraj Singh and his bride Hazel Keech at their pre-wedding functions.
Yuvraj Singh and Stuart Broad have been involved in many on-field battles, none famous than the Super 8 encounter between India and England during the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup where Yuvraj smashed six sixes off Broad.
On knowing that Yuvraj is getting married, few of the cheeky English supporters expressed their desire to savour the opportunity of witnessing this ‘big fat Punjabi wedding’, where Broad joining the festivities would add to the festivities.
“We had heard about the food, the drinks, Punjab music and we are having a ball here,” Andy Thompson told Hindustan Times, adding: “But there is something else on my wishlist now. I want to experience at least one Punjabi wedding and good lord isn’t Yuvraj Singh getting married on Wednesday?”

Sushma Swaraj Gets a Kidney Donor, But he Has Strange Demand

He's a dead man walking. On the paper for the last ten years Santosh Moorat Singh is 'dead'. But now he wants to change that for good by donating a kidney to external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj. In return of this noble gesture, Singh wants that he's certified as "a living human being".
His story is rather strange. Singh once worked as a cook for veteran actor Nana Patekar. But because of his inter-caste marriage, Singh's relatives allegedly got him declared as 'dead' and usurped his ancestral property.
SANTOSH MOORAT SINGH'S STORY
After he had moved to Mumbai with Patekar, Singh married a Maharashtrian Dalit woman in 2003. When he returned to his native village in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, his relatives abused him physically and threw him out of the house.
"After being turned away, I went back to Mumbai. Six months later After being turned away, I went back to Mumbai. Six months later I found out that my last rites were performed and a death certificate was issued. It's been a futile struggle ever since to prove to the authorities that I am still alive. All documents that could prove me right were destroyed too," alleged Singh.

What Happens When Virat Kohli Walks Out to bat in an Indian Stadium

Parthiv Patel, on his return to the Indian Test team after eight years, had kept wickets for 94 overs and then scored a gritty 42 to lead India's response to England's 283 in Mohali.
Patel was dismissed after 26 overs of resilience and old school grit. For connoisseurs of Test cricket, it was almost heartbreaking. A special innings was in the making, India was en route a strong platform and a great comeback was being scripted.
For, the fall of the second Indian wicket in Test cricket can only one thing in the post - Sachin Tendulkar era: it's Virat Kohli's turn to bat.
And when Kohli walks out to bat at home, the ground erupts. Who cares what Patel did or how many he got or how stirring his comeback story could have been? Even before the Gujarat southpaw had walked out of the field, chants of 'Kohli, Kohli' filled the stadium.

Dear Zindagi movie review: Alia Bhatt Shah Rukh Khan film Offers Bumber.

Dear Zindagi movie cast: Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan, Yashwasini Dayama, Ira Dubey, Kunal Kapoor, Ali Zafar, Angad Bedi
Dear Zindagi movie director: Gauri Shinde
When we meet Kaira aka Koko (Alia Bhatt) in Dear Zindagi first, she is working. On a set. Looking at the world through a lens, constructing pretty images. We know, from her smile, and from the appreciative comments of her co-workers, that she is good at what she does.
To have a female lead presented as possessing a profession from the get-go, and excelling at it, still feel like a significant step for a Bollywood movie. And to have Kaira declare to a current love that she has had a fling with another feels nothing short of a revolution.

Bigg Boss 10, 18th November 2016 written update: Rohan Mehra is the most hated man in the house

In Bigg Boss 10, everyone’s wake-up call this morning is the song ‘Ek ho gaye hum aur tum’. The first person to destroy the peace of the house is Lokesh when she argues with Rohan after he tells her to help the others make breakfast. She reminds Rohan that he is her favourite, but despite that, she doesn’t appreciate being mistreated.

Bani, on the other hand, teaches Rohan how to deal with the housemates while distributing the household duties. Bigg Boss calls Rohan to confession room and ask him to name two contestants who he wishes to send to jail. Rohan decides that Manu and Manveer deserve to be punished but refuses to give any justification for his decision, resulting in Manu and Manveer rejecting this punishment. They are supported by the housemates who are also not convinced by Rohan’s lack of explanation. Lopamudra tries to ask the reason from Rohan, but instead they get into a verbal spat. Lopa taunts Rohan saying that he is behaving like a dictator and not a captain. Seeing that Manveer is unwilling to accept his punishment, Rohan asks him to take on his daily chores but Manveer refuses to do so.

Bigg Boss declares that it is the captain’s responsibility to play fair and take the right decisions. He also asks the contestants to obey the captain’s orders, reminding them that if they fail at doing so, it could lead to serious consequences.
Ashamed at having broken major rules of the Bigg Boss house, Manu and Manveer go to jail for their punishment. Bigg Boss announces that Manu and Manveer will have to go to jail. Manu gets upset about it but Manveer convinces him to go to jail. Gaurav makes sure that Manu and Manveer go to the jail as he is the jailer. Swami stands near the jail when Manveer asks him if he is little bit upset about them going to jail. Swami Om starts crying as says that he is upset as there are no beds in the jail and he feels for them. Manu, in return, replies that they will never say anything bad to Swami from now on.
Rohan says Lopa hasn’t cleaned the living area properly. Lopa tries to irritate Rohan but then completes her work. Lokesh refuses to complete her household duties and instead prefers to stay with Manu and Manveer for some time. Rohan, after listening to this, announces a punishment for Lokesh. Rohan and Lokesh gets into an argument over this, Rohan snatches a tissue box from Lokesh’s hands and call her ‘Badtmeez’.
Bigg Boss announces another task to test the strength of men. All the ladies of the house will rank men of the house. Gaurav is ranked first whereas Rohan is ranked second. They fight for Garnier men hamper and Rohan wins the task. Bani raises objection on Rohan’s win as Lopa, the mediator, did not gave a fair decision. Bigg Boss announces that Manveer and Manu’s jail term is now ended and they can leave the jail right away.

Nigeria’s ‘Iron Lady’ of water and sanitation

World Toilet Day is marked every year on 19 November as a way to raise awareness and break taboos around toilets and sanitation. This year, UNICEF is celebrating Toilet Heroes – the children and adults who are making an impact in their communities by demanding toilets and improved sanitation.
By Emily Bamford
In Nigeria’s rural communities, open defecation is a common problem, creating serious public health risks. Learn how Zainabu Abubaker, who leads the water and sanitation department in her local government, has helped her community become almost entirely open defecation free.

BAKORI, Katsina State, Nigeria, 18 November 2016 – “They call me the Iron Lady, I don’t know why,” laughs Zainabu Abubakar. “I’m not ferocious or anything, I’m just doing my job.”
Zainabu is a mother of four living in Katsina State in northern Nigeria. Back in 2009, the State Governor appointed her to become the Director of the newly formed Local Government Area (LGA) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Department in Bakori, an unusual move in a region which has very few female decision makers.
“I studied nursing back in college because I was always really passionate about improving community health – especially for women and children. This was the perfect role for me,” she says.
Ending open defecation
Zainabu’s job is particularly important in a country like Nigeria. According to the 2013 National Demographic Health Survey, 28.7 per cent of Nigeria’s population practised open defecation, while another 37.3 per cent was using unimproved latrines.
Zainabu works long hours and manages a team of 96 staff – among the largest WASH departments in the country. But it hasn’t always been this way. “We started out as a really small team with not much money, but we fought hard to get both the staff and budget required. It took a lot of work, but luckily our Governor was really supportive. He trusted that once we got the money we would get the results. We made sure that we didn’t disappoint him.”
Since then, Zainabu and her team have gone on to roll out an extensive Water and Sanitation programme in the district. One of the first initiatives to be introduced was Community-led Total Sanitation (CLTS). Back in 2009, it was considered a new and innovative approach, inspiring communities to construct their own latrines and eliminate the practice of open defecation – a common problem, particularly in rural areas. The ongoing SHAWN II project (Sanitation, Hygiene and Water in Nigeria) is being run in collaboration with UNICEF and NGO partners, with funding from UK Aid.
Community engagement
In less than six years, almost 90 per cent of Bakori’s communities have now been certified Open Defecation Free (ODF). This also means that residents practise handwashing and have access to safe water through the installation of new water points.
“CLTS is something that I am most proud of. It’s doing really well, you can really see a difference in the communities – diarrhoea and vomiting have decreased drastically in the last few years. When I visit the ODF communities, this is one of the first things they always tell me.”
As behaviour change is a long-term process, Ward Health Officers visit communities every few weeks to check on their progress. Reports are then carefully vetted by Zainabu’s team. “I really keep track of what’s happening at the community level – I know all the communities and I’m lucky because I know I have a great team who are supporting them.”
Despite the progress made, Zainabu still faces challenges on a daily basis. “Sometimes it’s hard being a female manager,” she says. “It’s just how it is up here, but I’m an outspoken person, I can handle it. I hope it will help to inspire other women to become leaders within the Government too. There needs to be more of us,” she smiles. “It’s difficult, but I know what I believe in and I’m fighting to do what is right for the communities.”
Zainabu ultimately hopes that other Councils will follow Bakori Government’s lead. “There’s still much to be done in Nigeria,” she says. “I hope other Councils will also be able to grow full-fledged Water and Sanitation Departments like ours, it makes such a difference as it means we have enough staff and resources to implement a big programme. At the end of the day, it’s political will and hard work that really makes all the difference. With that, I believe anything is possible.”

Stephen Hawking gives humanity only another 1,000 years on Earth

Hawking has also famously predicted that a sufficiently advanced Artificial Intelligence could spell the end of the world as we know it.

Noted theoritical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking has given humanity just another 1,000 years on earth, claiming that the humankind will have to find at least one other planet to colonise after that if it wants to survive. Hawking had famously predicted another bit of gloomy future for mankind, saying sufficiently advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) could spell the end of the world as we know it

This time, Hawking was speaking at a Oxford Union debating society gathering on a variety of topics, like the universe, and where human beings came from. The septuagenarian with crippling motor neuron disease is best known in the scientific community for his research into the building blocks of the universe and its origins, and among the masses for his book A Brief History of Time, which famously contains only one scientific equation: E=mc2.
Speaking at the gathering, he was quoted by the Independent as saying: "Our picture of the universe has changed a great deal in the last 50 years and I am happy if I have made a small contribution. The fact that we humans, who are ourselves mere fundamental particles of nature, have been able to come this close to understanding the laws that govern us and the universe is certainly a triumph."
He said about the advancements in research and expansion of the collective human knowledge: "We will map the position of millions of galaxies with the help of [super] computers like Cosmos. We will better understand our place in the universe. Perhaps one day we will be able to use gravitational waves to look right back into the heart of the Big Bang."
And then came the dire warning: "But we must also continue to go into space for the future of humanity. I don't think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping beyond our fragile planet."
With climate change bringing about some of the hottest months on record and world resource consumption also reaching record highs, the scenario Hawking predicted may not exactly be science fiction.

The Undertaker’s Net Worth: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

The Undertaker, a.k.a. Mark Calaway, is one of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time, having entertained millions upon millions of fans throughout his lengthy career. As you can imagine, he has amassed a substantial fortune during that time.

Calaway is 51-years-old, and he began working as a professional wrestler back in 1984. He continues to perform in the ring over three decades later, most recently impressing audiences with a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 32 back in April. Tonight on SmackDown Live, Calaway makes his return.

Here’s what you need to know about The Undertaker and his net worth.

1. His Net Worth Is $17 Million

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Mark Calaway has amassed a net worth of $17 million in his 32 years of wrestling.
This number is quite significant, although it’s slightly lower than some comparable wrestling legends. Hulk Hogan, for instance, is reportedly worth $25 million. Triple H is also believed to be worth $25 million, The Richest reports. However, Calaway’s net worth is higher than that of Bill Goldberg, whose net worth is $14 million.
Beating all of these superstars is “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, whose net worth is $45 million. And then there’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, whose net worth is an astounding $125 million, although he has made a significant amount of that through his Hollywood career rather than through wrestling.

2. He Makes $2.25 Million Per Year

Although Mark Calaway only appears on WWE programming a few times a year, he earns a higher salary than most of the superstars who perform just about every single day.
According to Total Sportek, Calaway has a five-year, part time contract with the WWE, and he makes $2.25 million per year. For comparison, if that figure is true, it would mean he’s making more than Randy Orton ($1.6 million), Chris Jericho ($974,000), The Miz ($712,000), Daniel Bryan ($700,000), and Roman Reigns ($245,000).
The only superstars who make more per year with the WWE than The Undertaker are John Cena ($2.75 Million) and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ($3.5 Million).
The Undertaker appeared on WWE programming earlier this year in the leadup to WrestleMania 32, and he went on to fight Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell match at that pay-per-view. He has not been seen since, but he will make his return on SmackDown Live‘s 900th episode on November 15th.

3. He Has Participated in 163 Pay-Per-View Matches

Part of the reason The Undertaker has been able to earn such an impressive fortune is due to his participation in the main events of so many WWE pay-per-views, the huge special events which wrestlers often receive bonuses for.
According to the WWE, the Undertaker has taken on opponents in 163 pay-per-view matches. Of those, he has won 94 of them.
Plus, he has been on the poster of 62 pay-per-view events. The most recent pay-per-view that he was on the poster for was Survivor Series 2015. Although he had a key match in WrestleMania 32, The Undertaker was not on that poster; instead, the poster was of Triple H and Roman Reigns.

4. He Has Acted in ‘Suburban Commando’ & ‘Poltergeist: The Legacy’

Like so many WWE superstars, Mark Calaway has dabbled in acting over the years, although he didn’t quite find his calling in it in the same way that Dwayne Johnson did.
Calaway made his feature film debut in the 1991 action-comedy Suburban Commando, which starred Hulk Hogan in the lead role. The Undertaker has a relatively minor part, but he does get to battle it out with Hulk Hogan in one scene.
The Undertaker did not take on any additional acting roles until 1999, when he appeared in an episode of the TV series Poltergeist: The Legacy. Once again, this was a pretty small role. That same year, he had a guest appearance in an episode of Celebrity Deathmatch.
That was the last time Mark Calaway would act outside of the WWE until 2015, when he did some voice acting work for the animated film The Flintstones & WWE: Stone Age SmackDown. Calaway also provided the voice of The Undertaker for 2016’s Scooby-Doo! And WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon, which also featured Triple H, The Miz, Paige, Lana, Vince McMahon, and more WWE superstars. The Undertaker was the only one to make it onto the DVD cover of that film.

5. He Established a Fund to Help Save Sick Dogs

The Undertaker has put his wealth and celebrity status to good use, as he and his ex-wife Sara Frank established the Zeus Compton Calaway Save the Animals fund at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. The fund’s goal is to help dog-owners who can’t afford to treat their sick pet.
“No pet owner should have to put their beloved animal to sleep because they are unable to pay medical bills,” the organization says on its website. “The Zeus Compton Calaway Save the Animals Fund was established to help pet owners bridge the gap between their ability to pay for lifesaving medical treatment and the costs of the procedure.”
The fund is named after Zeus, Mark and Sara’s dog who they adopted in 1999. Unfortunately, Zeus developed a rare disease and, after being examined at Texas A&M University, he died in February of 2004.
“Zeus was not just a dog,” Sara Frank says on the Save the Animals fund website. “He was my best friend and a beloved member of our family. Mark and I decided we wanted to do something special and personal to help other large breeds such as Zeus.”

Jewellers In Delhi Shut Shops For 5th Day After Income Tax Survey

Gold and jewellery establishments in the national capital remained closed for a fifth day after the Income Tax Department conducted surveys following reports of alleged profiteering and tax evasion by traders and other operators in reported conversion of demonetised notes.

The survey operations were carried out on November 10 in at least four locations in Delhi-NCR region, including Dariba Kalan, Chandni Chowk and Karol Bagh.

Most jewellery houses have been closed since November 11 in the national capital.

According to the sources, the officials of Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence (DGCEI), an arm under the Finance Ministry, has sent notices to these jewellers seeking details of the gold sales.

vivo V5 unveiled with 20MP selfie camera, split screen multitasking

If you want an awesome selfie camera but the vivo X7 Plus is too pricey for you, try the new vivo V5. Its claim to fame is the 20MP front-facing camera.
It uses a high-quality sensor too - a Sony IMX376, 1/2.78” - behind a bright f/2.0 aperture. There’s an LED flash on the front too, of course. These are some of the best specs for a selfie camera ever (the X7 has a 16MP selfie cam, the Xperia XA Ultra has a 16MP 1/2.6” sensor and OIS).

The main camera on the vivo V5 is plain in comparison - 13MP sensor with Phase Detection AF. Vivo is a little evasive with chipset and video recording specs, so we’ll assume 1080p video capture until we hear otherwise.
All this talk and we haven’t even mentioned the screen - it’s a 5.5” IPS LCD with only 720p resolution. There’s 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass guarding the screen and below that is a fingerprint reader that triggers in just 0.2 seconds.
An unnamed octa-core processor is hooked up to a surprisingly generous 4GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB of storage built in and a microSD slot. The OS is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with extensive Funtouch OS 2.6 customizations. They include Smart Split 2.0 - split-screen multitasking.
The vivo V5 has a metal body painted in Crown Gold or Grey, which measures 7.55mm thick and weighs 154g. Inside is a 3,000mAh battery and an AK4346 Hi-Fi audio chip that promises a signal-to-noise ratio of 115dB.
The V5 is priced at INR 17,980 ($265/€245) and will be available starting November 26.

Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna is a still from Koffee With Karan 5

Cat got TV chat host Karan Johar's tongue during the dreaded rapid fire round on Koffee With Karan Season 5's latest episode. Twinkle Khanna went in all guns blazing, which KJo, as an old friend, ought to have been prepared for.

But can anybody really be armed against an onslaught of this sort, albeit hilarious? It was a no-holds barred performance by Twinkle, the kind we rarely got to see during her acting career. Husband Akshay Kumar's attempt to caution her (using their coded phrase "Chashma Pehan Le," meaning be careful with your words) was thankfully ignored, giving Koffee With Karan its best rapid fire round ever. For those of you who didn't watch, here are some choice gems.

Women find Akshay Kumar sexy because...

Twinkle: He looks like he is built to last.

(Akshay's two bits, "Mazboot Tikau," were dismissed by Karan saying, "I don't think she meant that.")

What does Akshay have that Khans don't?

Twinkle: Some extra inches.

And to a flabbergasted Karan, Twinkle: Don't look at his crotch. I meant his feet. You always had your mind in other people's crotches. It his feet-size 12.

Akshay Kumar's discomfiture doubled by Karan valiantly countering with: Like Crotch Crotch Hota Hai.

One thing men should know about women that they don't

Twinkle: Women aren't like faucets. One twirl, you turn them on and everything gushes. It takes a little more effort.

Silence. * Akshay desperately gulps his coffee * Silence eventually filled by Karan: She has turned into those Gyani babas who write columns. Twinkle has a name for her baba version-Twink Baba.

What's the meanest thing one has said about your writing?

Twinkle (points to Karan): 'When you started writing columns. They said that Karan Johar is the new Mrs Funnybones.'

'If I wrote a book on Bollywood, it would be titled?'

Twinkle's epic response: Tentacles to Testicles

Things we also learnt about Akshay Kumar from his loose-lipped wife - he cries a lot, wears checked pyjamas of the sort favoured by eight-year-olds, and can sleep in the same position without moving. Also, nothing pisses him off (that, we can totally believe).

Akshay's rapid fire was almost as entertaining. He's been subject to Karan Johar's machine-gunning on the previous season and so did fairly well.

What does your wife mean when she says, 'We need to talk'?

Akshay: That means I must have not flushed the toilet.

What does she mean when she says 'I am fine'?

Akshay: That means we all are dead. Just run for cover.

What does she mean when she says, 'Do I look fat in this?'

Akshay: If I say no, she would never trust me.

If you could change one thing about your wife, what would that be?

Akshay: Her fuse.

Well done, Akshay - not as well done as Twinkle but far better than Karan Johar himself, who was subjected to a quick fire questionnaire devised by his guests' four-year-old daughter Nitara.

There was a clear winner.

Twinkle Khanna = 10 on 10

Akshay Kumar = 5 A for effort

Karan Johar = 0 (sorry, Karan)
